PC Flash Cards was conceived by Veterinary student Mary Gardner. Mary returned to college after spending 7 years in the computer software industry. During her pre-vet coursework she found herself making hundreds of flashcards for every course from Biology to Economics. Although a useful study tool, handwritten flash cards became tedious, time consuming and took up lots of space in her office! She searched for a program that could automate flash card creation and studying, but was not able to find one with the flexibility she needed.
After much research, she designed the PC Flash Cards program on 'paper' and then searched for a programmer to bring it to life! That programmer turned out to be her father Allan Gardner; a software engineer for over 30 years.
In order to make PC Flash Cards available to other students, Mary enlisted the help of her brother Al Gardner who has 15 years experience in computer software and website implementation.
